Former coach is back for 2012 season

January 11, 2012

Jan Tobe will return to the Wilmington College sideline to take over the head coaching reins in 2012, the College announced today.

Tobe coached the Quakers from 2007 to 2009 and was the architect of Wilmington’s 15-15 campaign in 2008, the Quakers’ first .500 season since 1991.

Tobe’s coaching roots extend to Greeneview High School, where she coached for 16 years and led the Rams to three Ohio Heritage Conference championships, nine sectional finals, six district finals and a regional final in 1996.

“We are pleased to have Jan back,” Wilmington vice president for athletics administration/director of athletics Terry Rupert said. “She is respected by our players and the southwest Ohio volleyball community. We are confident that her past success both in high school and here at Wilmington will translate to future success for our program.”

Tobe and her husband Lewis live in Jamestown.
