Quakers win at Mt. St. Joseph

CINCINNATI — Wilmington College defeated Mount St. Joseph, 5-0, in non-conference women’s tennis action Friday night.
The Quakers swept all three doubles matches and took the first two singles matches to wrap the win.
Wilmington is now 1-1 on the season while Mount St. Joseph drops to 1-6.
Marie Granstrom (Burtrask, Vasterbotten, Sweden/Adalsskolan) and Jessica VanWinkle (Vickery/Floyd Central, Ind.) posted an 8-6 win over Bridget Kent and Kelsey Donovan at the No. 1 doubles position.
Michelle Reiber (Jamestown/Greeneview) and Lisa Brady (Pickerington/Pickerington North) were 8-6 winners over Lauren McDonald and Carolyn Biedenharn at No. 2 doubles.
Jennifer VanWinkle (Vickery/Floyd Central, Ind.) and Jessica Veite (Loveland) posted an 8-6 win over Brittany Hammond and Jolie Hasselbeck at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles courts, Granstrom won, 7-5, 6-2, over Kent at No. 1.
Jessica VanWinkle was a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Donovan at No. 2 singles.
