WILBERFORCE — Wilmington College snapped a season-high four-match losing streak with a 3-1 win at Central State University Thursday night.

The Quakers are now 11-15 on the season.

“We were able to play a lot of freshmen and underclassmen who haven’t seen as much action this season,” Wilmington head coach Ron Mullikin said. “They did a nice job.”

Wilmington opened with a 25-22 win in set one. Set two went the Quakers way, 25-18.

Central State extended the evening by taking set three, 25-21, but Wilmington finished the match by taking set four, 25-22.

Caity Massie (St. Paris/Graham) led Wilmington’s attack with 10 kills.

Shelbie Stephenson (Salem, Ind.) put down seven kills.

Courtney Hurley (DeGraff/Riverside) contributed 33 assists.
