Quakers lose at Otterbein

Michelle Reiber and the Quakers lost at Otterbein.
WESTERVILLE — Wilmington College lost, 9-0, to Otterbein in Ohio Athletic Conference women’s tennis action Tuesday afternoon.
The Quakers are now 1-2 in the OAC, 2-5 overall. Otterbein improves to 3-1 in the conference, 10-6 for the season.
The Cardinals opened play by sweeping action on the doubles courts. Wilmington’s lone game win came at the No. 2 position, where Jennifer VanWinkle (Vickery/Floyd Central, Ind.) and Jordan VanWinkle (Vickery/Port Clinton) dropped a 1-8 decision to Brooke Trine and Kylie Hammons.
Otterbein continued its roll when singles play got under way.
Jessica VanWinkle (Vickery/Floyd Central, Ind.) lost to Julie Stroyne at No. 1. At the No. 2 position, Erin Cane (Springboro) was defeated by Taylor Jordan. Michelle Reiber (Jamestown/Greeneview) dropped her No. 3 singles match to Trine. At the No. 4 spot, Jordan VanWinkle was defeated by Hammons.
Lisa Brady (Pickerington/Pickerington North) lost to Alana Cheplowitz at No. 5. At No. 6 singles, Holly Grady (Beavercreek/Xenia Christian) lost to Angela Sammons.
The Quakers will look to bounce back when Muskingum visits the WC courts for an OAC match at 1 p.m. Saturday.
