Quakers lose at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE — Wilmington College closed the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its schedule with a 3-0 loss at Otterbein Tuesday night.
The loss drops the Quakers to 1-8 in OAC play, 11-17 overall. The win is the 13th straight for the Cardinals, who are now 7-1 in the conference, 24-4 for the season.
Otterbein was not in a prisoner-taking mood. The Cardinals opened with a 25-9 win in set two and put away set two, 25-10.
The Quakers made things closer in set three, but Otterbein prevailed, 25-19.
For the match, Chelcey Lyons (Springfield/Shawnee) and Anne Keenan (Beavercreek) led Wilmington’s attack with six and five kills, respectively.
Amy McClelland (Xenia) put up 15 assists.
Tabitha Biegler (Columbus/Briggs) led Wilmington’s defensive effort with eight digs. Lyons and Megan Saunders (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) finished with six digs each.
The Quakers will end the season at Earlham 1 p.m. Saturday.
