Quakers lose at Ohio Northern

Justin Arehart and the Quakers were topped by Ohio Northern.
ADA — Wilmington College dropped a 9-0 decision to league-leading Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on the Polar Bears’ courts Thursday afternoon.
Wilmington is now 0-5 in the OAC, 0-8 overall. Ohio Northern improves to 4-0 in the conference, 6-4 for the season.
Ohio Northern took control of the match early, sweeping play on the doubles courts to go up, 3-0.
Wilmington’s No. 1 combination of Justin Arehart (Wilmington) and Josh Kincaid (Loveland/Goshen) lost, 8-2, to Joey Frank and Nick Kowalczyk.
On the No. 2 court, Jon Asher (Loveland/Goshen) and Connor LaVelle (Athens) dropped an 8-1 decision to Andrew Korba and Blake Troller.
Arehart and Frank had the day’s best singles battle with Frank prevailing, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 1 spot.
Cullen Corcoran (Wilmington/Clinton-Massie) lost, 6-1, 6-0, to Korba at No. 4 singles.
The Quakers will remain on the OAC highway with a match at Baldwin-Wallace 1 p.m. Saturday.
