Quakers fall to Mount Union
Creech wins 200 butterfly

Hannah Anderson and the Wilmington women dropped an OAC dual to Mount Union.
ALLIANCE — Wilmington College fell to Mount Union, 124-73, in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet Saturday afternoon.
“We were a little bit flat at the beginning of the meet. Maybe you can attribute that to a long bus ride or just getting off to a slow start, but we started to swim better as the meet went along. Part of that was getting into the racing mood of things, and part of it was probably a little wake-up from me,” Wilmington head coach Trip Breen said.
Julie Creech (Dayton/Centerville) powered her way to a win in the 200 butterfly, touching first in 2:18.49.
“Julie was a little bit sore and had a hard time getting going in the 200 free, but she bounced back to have a great 200 fly. It was a really nice day for her,” Breen said.
Breen also praised the performances turned in by Lisa Fetters (Hamilton/Badin) and Addie Roberts (Franklin).
“Lisa had a nice day sprinting and Addie was 20, 25 seconds faster than the last time she swam the mile. She really came on in the mile and the 500. Placing-wise, she wanted more, but those were great swims for her and another step toward having a great conference meet.”
The Quakers will close the regular season with a non-conference dual against Findlay on Jan. 28.
