Quakers fall to Baldwin-Wallace

Wilmington College dropped a 3-0 decision to Baldwin-Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at Fred Raizk Arena Saturday morning.
The Quakers are now 1-7 in the OAC, 11-16 overall. Baldwin-Wallace improves to 3-4 in the conference, 15-12 for the season.
The Yellow Jackets opened with a flurry, taking set one by a 25-12 count.
Set two went to the Jackets, 25-14.
The third set was tighter, but BW prevailed, 25-21.
The match was the final home performance in the careers of Wilmington seniors Caitlin Baker (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), Chelcey Lyons (Springfield/Shawnee), Amy McClelland (Xenia) and Megan Saunders (Springfield/Kenton Ridge).
Sara Fisher (London/Madison-Plains) led Wilmington’s attack with eight kills. Lyons and Ashley Miller (Arcanum/Franklin Monroe) put down seven and six kills, respectively.
McClelland put up 24 assists.
Courtney Hurley (DeGraff/Riverside) led Wilmington’s defensive effort with 10 kills.
The Quakers will close OAC play with a 7 p.m. match at Otterbein Tuesday.
