Quakers end season with loss to John Carroll

SHAKER HEIGHTS — Wilmington College closed out the men’s tennis season with a 9-0 loss to John Carroll in Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Quakers end the season at 0-9 in the OAC, 0-11 overall. John Carroll improves to 7-1 in the conference, 11-6 for the season.
Connor LaVelle (Athens) and Jon Asher (Loveland/Goshen) lost to Ryan Mullaney and Chad Ruehs at No. 1 doubles. The No. 2 combination of Josh Kincaid (Loveland/Goshen) and Killian Cummings (Cincinnati/Colerain) was defeated by Matthieu Menard and Sean Graham. Charles Hirtzinger (Troy) and Jesse Ingels (Morrow/Little Miami) dropped their No. 3 match to Michael Hulseman and Rico Certo.
In singles play, LaVelle lost to Menard at No. 1. Cummings lost his No. 2 match to Mullaney. Kincaid was defeated by Ruehs at No. 3. At No. 4, Asher lost to Certo. Hirtzinger had a two-match winning streak snapped with a loss to Graham at No. 5. Ingels was defeated by Hulseman at No. 6.
