Quakers earn national, regional recognition

Sophomore Joe Joe Knecht and junior Aaron Day celebrate the team's victory Saturday.
The Wilmington College football team continues to pick up regional and national honors as a result of their 13-12 victory over Marietta that snapped a 32-game losing streak.
OhioCollegeFootball.com named the Quakers as their Team of the Week, while senior kicker Max Gabbard (Waynesville, OH/Waynesville) was the kicker on the d3football.com Team of the Week.
Gabbard was 2-for-2 on field goals, including a career-long 35-yarder for the game winner. He was also named Ohio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and the WC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Player of the Week.
Wilmington (1-6 overall, 1-5 OAC) travels to John Carroll 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
