Wilmington College’s soccer season ended in November and will not resume until August, yet Charlie Gilhart Field was abuzz with activity for five Friday evenings this spring when the men’s team shared its passion for the world’s most popular sport with youth and adults from the Nike Center.

Amanda Middleton earned recognition as WC’s top student in agriculture/agronomy and had those credentials endorsed on a national level as the American Society of Agronomy honored her with its 2013 National Student Recognition Award.

Wilmington College fraternity Tau Kappa Beta fraternity won the 2013 “WC/ECC Energy Savings Challenge.” The organization received a $300 award from Energize Clinton County.

Bill Kincaid Jr.’s first acting experience was in 1973 playing the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland on the stage of Wilmington College’s Boyd Auditorium. Forty years later, he is returning to WC’s stage to direct the College-Community Summer Theatre’s production of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."

Greeks constitute barely over 20 percent of the student body and in the last year conducted 58 percent of the community service (12,356 hours!), not to mention fraternities and sororities raised $22,000 in cash and in-kind gifts for non-profit organizations.

Athletic training students in Jennifer Walker’s Issues in Sports Medicine class donned surgical gowns and masks, and had the opportunity to visit Beacon’s “learning labs,” where they were instructed in hands-on arthroscopic surgery on two cadaver shoulders.
