AUSTINTOWN — Wilmington College sophomore post Brianna Peters has been named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Team, the league office announced today.

Peters was an honorable mention pick.

Peters (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) averaged 9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in a season that ended with her among the conference’s leaders in several statistical categories. She ranked No. 8 with 48-percent shooting from the field, ninth with 22 blocked shots and 11th in rebounding.

“Brianna has been a work in progress since arriving here. It’s nice to see her development recognized with this award,” Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve said.

With only one senior on this year’s team that advanced to the OAC Tournament quarterfinals, Scheve said Peters is part of a promising future for the Lady Quakers.

“I think Brianna’s best basketball is still ahead of her, and I think that applies to our whole team as well,” Scheve said.
