Murphy fourth at Mount Union

Freshman competes in pentathlon

ALLIANCE — Sarah Murphy finished fourth in the pentathlon at the Mount Union Last Chance Qualifier Friday night.

Murphy (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) finished with 2,662 total points.

Murphy’s top performance was a second-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:43.83).

The WC freshman was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 9.96.

In the shot put, Murphy’s best effort of 27-4 ¾ was good for a fifth-place finish.

Murphy cleared 4-7 ¾ to take fifth in the high jump.

In the long jump, Murphy went 15 1 ½ to finish fifth.
