Keenan leads volleyball to split at Manchester

MANCHESTER, IN - Senior Anne Keenan (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) recorded nearly half of the team's kills Friday as Wilmington split two games at the 2012 Manchester University Pizza Hut Invitational.
After dropping the first set, the Fightin' Quakers claimed the nightcap by winning three consecutive sets. WC beat Calumet-St. Joseph's 18-25, 25-22, 29-27, 25-22. Keenan was the driving force in the victory, registering 20 of the team's 41 kills. Sophomore Ashley Miller (Arcanum, OH/Franklin Monroe) dished out 32 assists in the win.
Three different players - sophomore Madi Ray (Loveland, OH/Loveland) with 16, Miller (15) and Keenan (13) - recorded double-figure digs.
In the Invitational opener, Wilmington fell in straight sets to Purdue North Central, 25-17, 25-21, 25-16.
The Fightin' Quakers struggled with the blocking front line of Purdue North Central as its recorded 28 total blocks in the game. Keenan was able to finish with 12 kills as the team only had 24 kills in the game.
Miller led the team with 18 assists, while Ray had a team-high 14 digs.
