Floyd named head volleyball coach

February 28, 2013

WILMINGTON – Wilmington College Vice President of Athletic Administration Terry Rupert has announced Beth Floyd as the new head volleyball coach. Floyd is also the school’s assistant athletic director/Senior Women’s Administrator and softball coach. She is also WC’s all-time winningest fastpitch coach.

Floyd brings six years of volleyball coaching experience to the position.

“We are confident Beth will bring the same intensity to recruiting and retention for volleyball as she has during her tenure with the softball program,” said Rupert. “Her knowledge of the game of volleyball and game management will serve the program very well.”

She replaces interim head coach Jill West. The Lady Quakers were 7-19 overall, 0-9 in the OAC last season.

“I am looking forward to coaching volleyball at Wilmington College,” said Floyd. “I am excited for this opportunity to work toward further developing our volleyball program.”

Wilmington returns a solid nucleus of seven letterwinners, led by sophomores Ashley Miller and Madi Ray.
