Duncan, Monnier earn OAC honors

AUSTINTOWN – Two Wilmington College athletes were honored by the Ohio Athletic Conference for their exploits in their respective sports.


Softball junior Danielle Monnier (Houston, OH/Houston) earned her second OAC Pitcher of the Week honors of the season, while track freshman Jeremy Duncan (Cincinnati, OH/Archbishop Moeller) earned OAC Track Athlete of the Week.

It’s the second consecutive week a Wilmington track athletes was honored by the league. Senior Mason Metts (Pomeroy, OH/Meigs) was the Field Athlete of the Week.

Monnier gave up just one hit in a complete game shutout in a doubleheader against Heidelberg. She followed by picking up the save in the second game, giving up one hit. She finished with 11 strikeouts.

In helping Wilmington claim the OAC West split track meet, Duncan contributed two individual first place finishes. He won the 100-meter dash (11.18), 200-meter dash (22.42) and was a member of the winning 4x100 relay team (43.04).
