Jessie Carmack has been named interim women’s tennis coach at Wilmington College, WC Director of Athletics/Vice President for Athletics Administration Terry Rupert announced today.

Carmack will succeed Jessie Loeffelholz, whose teams earned berths in three straight Ohio Athletic Conference Tournaments and numerous conference and national athletic and academic honors.

A 2006 Little Miami High School graduate, Carmack was a member of the 2005-06 Panthers basketball team that went undefeated in the regular season and advanced to the state semifinals.

Carmack played collegiate basketball at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Ohio Dominican University and Northern Kentucky University.

Carmack was named an assistant coach for the Wilmington College women’s basketball team prior to the 2010-11 season. Prior to joining the Wilmington staff, she coached with the Dayton Hoopstars AAU organization.

“I am looking forward to working with Jessie as the spring tennis season approaches,” Rupert said. “She takes over a program that has developed a tradition of academic and athletic success. I am confident that her ability to work with student-athletes will help us carry on that tradition.”
