Associated Press Story on WC's Community Gardens Goes International
Feature Appears in 2.4 Million Print, Web, Blog and Broadcast Media from Atlanta to Sacramento, Singapore to India

The AP story features five photos from which media can choose to accompany the story, including the aerial photo (similar to above) used on the cover of WC's Summer 2009 LINK alumni magazine.
The centerpiece of Wilmington College's Grow Food, Grow Hope initiative is being heralded across the nation and the world as an Associate Press feature story by Daniel Sewell was released to AP subscribers Nov. 11. As of Nov. 13, the story appeared on some 2.4 million TV and radio broadcasts, newspapers, blogs and Web sites.
The story highlights the community gardens program in which 20 4x12 foot vegetable garden plots were given to local families that expressed an interest in learning to grow fresh, nutritious vegetables — and save money at the same time. Many of the families' breadwinners were unemployed or underemployed.
