Class of 2011 member Erin Cane, who is employed by Kettering Sports Medicine Center, recently sent a note thanking Wilmington College's athletic training faculty and staff for preparing her well for her career in athletic training.

She wrote: "This Friday night I was working my first boys' basketball scrimmage. In the second period an athlete from the opposing team landed wrong on his ankle and clearly dislocated it. His foot was pointing the wrong direction and I could hold the tip of his medial malleolus in my hand.

"He immediately freaked out as well as many of the spectators.

"However, through all of my experiences at Wilmington, I stayed very calm and felt like I was in control of the situation. I felt totally prepared to handle this type of injury (I actually thought it was really cool and was pretty excited).

"I even had the coach from the other team come up and thank me for doing such a good job. It made me feel great and I hope it reflects back on all that I was taught from all of you! Just wanted to thank you for preparing me to be out in the field all by myself!!

"I will never forget my experiences at Wilmington! Miss you guys and hope you are all doing well!
