Careers for Social Work majors
A major in Social Work prepares students for beginning social work and for graduate professional education. Students who complete the Social Work major are eligible to apply for licensure as a “Licensed Social Worker” in the State of Ohio.

A sampling of careers of graduates:
• Community Mental Health Center, Case Manager
• Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers, Clinician
• Juvenile Probation Officer
• Child Welfare Workers
• Medical Social Workers
• Social Workers in Extended Care Facilities

Special program features
Field placements, local and regional agencies:
The Social Work Program includes an educationally planned, professionally supervised field work/practicum, which provides students with experiential learning in a social service setting. Field work prepares students for employment in entry-level social work practice.

Clinton County placements include:
• Clinton Memorial Hospital, Department of Human Services
• Children's Services, Head Start
• Wilmington Health Care Center, Adult Day Car Center
Regional placements:
Students have had field placements in various agencies throughout the state and in a student's home area. Placements include local hospitals, children's protective service agencies, extended care facilities, social welfare agencies, mentally retarded and mental health service agencies.
