Athletic Training History
Wilmington's AT program is one the oldest and largest programs in the state of Ohio. Our reputation for producing quality graduates reaches far and wide. Established in 1978 by WC Athletics Hall of Fame member Roger Tewksbury and Medical Director Dr. John Turba, the athletic training program at WC has a long and impressive history of producing high quality ATCs. When it comes to networking, WC students have a unique advantage over other students not only due to the large number of WC graduates in the profession but because of the notable positions our graduates hold. For instance, our grads work as head athletic trainers for college and professional sports teams and other grads have continued their education to become Medical Doctors, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, College Professors and Teachers to list just a few.
