A total of 36 hours with grades of "C " or better, including 18 hours at the 300- or 400- level, is required. Courses other than those offered only as pass/fail may not be taken on a pass/fail basis for this major. Required courses: ENG201 Varieties of Literature (3) ENG330 Shakespeare (3) ENG450 Senior Seminar (3) Required: 9 hours from the following. (Majors are encouraged to take all four survey courses.) ENG230 American Literature I (3) ENG231 American Literature II (3) ENG307 British Literature I (3) ENG308 British Literature II (3) Required: 18 additional hours of ENG electives.
