Wilmington College Cincinnati Branch is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and is recognized by the John Templeton Foundation as one of the 135 character-building institutions in the United States.
In addition to professional courses in your major, your education will include a strong liberal arts component designed to enhance your general knowledge and make you a more versatile, valuable employee. Business and industry leaders prefer those who possess a broad education and good communication skills, both of which complement what you learn in your major.
Our students feel that our faculty is one of our greatest strengths. Our faculty consists of full time professors from both the Cincinnati Branch and main campus in Wilmington, as well as professionals from leading businesses in the area. The benefit to you is an education that combines the best of both academic and practical experience.
Non-traditional Ways to Earn Credit: Wilmington College recognizes that not all college-level learning takes place in the classroom. In addition to our liberal transfer credit policy from other accredited institutions, we also award college credit as appropriate for prior learning experiences. Academic advisors are available to assist you in translating your unique learning experiences into college credit in the following ways:
Experiential Learning Assessment: Students may earn up to 15 semester hours of credit by submitting a written portfolio detailing prior learning experiences. Free workshops are offered each semester to assist you with this process.
Business, Industry, and Military Courses: The National Program on Non-Collegiate Sponsored Instruction and the American Council on Education evaluate and make credit recommendations for education programs, seminars and courses from such entities as businesses, non-profit organizations, and the armed services. Wilmington College follows these guidelines in awarding credit.
CLEP Exams: Wilmington College recognizes selected general and subject examinations of the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). The Cincinnati Branch is an approved test site for CLEP exams.
Proficiency Exams: Wilmington College offers proficiency examinations for many of our courses not covered by CLEP exams. We award credit for acceptable performance as defined by the appropriate academic department.
