2006 - 2007 Scholarship & Awards Program

The following scholarships and awards are available to first-time freshmen students entering in the 2006 fall semester and 2007 spring semester at WilmingtonCollege.  Recipients must be full-time students on the main campus. Scholarships and awards are renewable each year providing the student maintains eligibility requirements specific to the award. 

The Wilmington College Achievement and Recognition Awards and the geographical awards are awarded at the time of admission.  The Wilmington Scholars Program and the Wilmington Heritage Awards require a scholarship application to be submitted.  The scholarship application will be available to students upon admission to the College. 

Wilmington College Academic Awards

Wilmington Scholars Program 
¨       Applicants must be accepted to the College no later than 
             December 1,  2005
¨       Competition only.  Students will be invited to compete for the following 
            scholarships: Full Cost of Attendance Awards (stipend totaling       
            approximately $27,000 for the 2006-2007 academic year, over
 
            $110,000 
for four years), $20,000 scholarships, $15,000 
            scholarships, and 
$10,000 scholarships        
¨       Eligibility to participate will be based on prior academic performance,  
            leadership, and service 
¨       Scholarship will not be combined with other awards

Wilmington College Acheivement Award
 ¨       3.25 cumulative high school grade point average and variable

          ACT/SAT score

¨       Stipend ranges from $3000 - $7500

¨       Available regardless of need

¨       Awarded upon acceptance to the College

 

Wilmington College Recognition Award

¨       Cumulative high school grade point average of up to 3.25 with variable

           ACT/SAT score 

¨       Stipend ranges from $1000 - $3000

¨       Available regardless of need

¨       Awarded upon acceptance to the College

Multicultural Award
¨       2.5 cumulative grade point average
¨       Stipend ranges from $1000 - $6000
¨       Must have demonstrated financial need. 
This award may be combined with other awards.

Wilmington College Regional Awards

Wilmington College Local Region Award
¨       $1500 per year
¨       May be combined with other awards
¨       Available regardless of need
¨       Recipient must reside in one of the following counties since
          
January 1, 2005: Brown, Clinton, Fayette and Highland

Greater Dayton Award
¨      
$1500 per year
¨       May be combined with other awards
¨       Available regardless of need
¨       Recipient must reside in one of the following counties since 
           January 1, 2005: Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami,
          
Montgomery and Preble

Greater Cincinnati Award

¨       $1500 per year

¨       Available regardless of need
¨     Recipient must reside in one of the follwing counties since
           January 1, 2005:

           Ohio 
                Butler, Clermont, Hamilton and Warren
           Kentucky
                Boone, Campbell and Kenton

Wilmington College Heritage Awards

Quaker Leader Scholarship 

¨       $7000 per year

¨       Academic ability and leadership in weekly Quaker meeting

¨       Student must be a member of a Yearly Meeting

¨       Interview and essay

¨       Available regardless of need

 

Quaker Award

¨       $5000 per year

¨       Student must be a member of a Yearly Meeting or a graduate from a Quaker high school

¨       Available regardless of need

 

Legacy Award

¨       $5000 per year

¨       Student’s parent, step-parent, or grandparent must be a graduate of WC  or

¨       Sibling must be attending Wilmington College during the 2006-2007 

            academic year

¨       Available regardless of need

        other Wilmington awards. 

Wilmington College Transfer Scholarships 

Transfer Honor Scholarship 
¨     $6,000
¨     3.3 overall college gpa and 24+ semester hours of college work 
  

Southern State Scholarship
¨     $2,000
¨     2.0 minimum college gpa and 24+ semester hours of college work   
           from Southern State Community College as the last college attended
This award may be combined with the other awards.
