SERIALS READING ROOM -- Journals, Periodicals, Magazines, Newspapers
The library subscribes to thousands of periodical titles with most subscriptions available only through its online databases. It subscribes to approximately 200 print-format periodical titles, with some of them later being bound into volumes or replaced with microfilm and microfiche archives. All in-house periodical holdings in all formats are for use only in the library and do not circulate. Blue Ash faculty and students may contact Public Services at x345 to request copies of articles held by Watson Library.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS
The library qualified in 1986 as an official depository for free government publications coming from various government agencies and departments. The library currently selects 12 percent of all government publications that are offered. The selected items come in different formats: paper sheets, books, pamphlets, maps, posters, and microfiche. As of December, 2005, almost all federal government documents were made available on the Internet with selected direct links provided in the OPAL and OhioLINK catalogs.

Books and other items requested for pick up at Blue Ash campus are checked out in advance to you at Watson Library. The Wilmington College daily courier delivers the items to Blue Ash Main Desk for you to claim. Please return to the same location. Circulation loan periods are three weeks for books and circulating government documents, with renewals permitted if no holds have been placed on items. Materials may be renewed online. Overdue fines are 50 cents per day per item. Reserved items and other types of loans have various loan periods -- please verify at time of loan.
Borrowing materials and obtaining photocopies from other libraries is a privilege limited to students, faculty and staff of Wilmington College, Main and Blue Ash campuses. If Wilmington does not own the journal article or book you want, or if our copy is checked out, you still have the interlibrary loan options. Contact Public Services at x345 or email email@example.com
BOOKS, VIDEOS, CDs: You may be able to locate and then request needed books, videos, or music CDs from OPAL or OhioLINK. When requesting a book from OPAL or OhioLINK catalogs, you will be prompted for your name and barcode.
Your barcode number is your Wilmington College ID number plus enough leading zeros to make 9 digits. (You will not actually get a barcode label on your ID card). If your number is 111111, your barcode number will be, 000111111). Your WC ID number is contained magnetically on your ID card, appears on your course schedule, and on your student account statement. If you do not have it, check with the Registrar.
You will also be asked to select a pickup location. This is very important. The book will not be sent to Blue Ash if you do not select the appropriate Wilmington/Blue Ash pickup location. You may choose to pickup your requested OPAL or OhioLINK items from another more convenient member library. The book will be sent to the pickup location in 3 or 4 days. You can check it out from the circulation desk for 3 weeks. Items delivered to Cincinnati Blue Ash WC branch campus will already be checked out to the requesting person.
You can renew a borrowed book unless someone else has placed a hold on it by using OPAL's "My Account." OPAL Catalog. The library's computer system will not allow renewals on items with holds or on items already overdue. Overdue fines are 50 cents per day.
ARTICLES and BOOKS: Don't give up! If the article you need is not in Watson Library or online or a needed book seems nowhere to be found, then you should consider our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services (operated by Joni Streber, the manager of Circulation Services, Circulation Desk, x345). ILL uses other location and access strategies and may take a couple of weeks for delivery if your item can be located:
Interlibrary Loan Request Forms (must be completed and saved under new names, then attached in email to firstname.lastname@example.org As manager of Public Services, Joni will process your requests and send the responses via Wilmington courier to the Blue Ash campus for you to pick up.
