Sidney Mishkin

Robert Touchton, Chair

Wilmington College adjunct professor, teaching Business Law. Retired Administrative Law Judge in
the Office of Hearings and Appeals for the Social Security Administration in Cincinnati, OH, having
served from 1994-2004. Previous professional experiences were in the fields of law and business.
Took leave of absence from Board to serve Wilmington College as Vice President for College Advancement
August, 2007-February, 2009. Community activities have included serving as a youth sports coach and
various leadership roles (council president, elder, and chair of a capital campaign) in the Ascension Lutheran
Church. 1965 Wilmington College graduate. Active in alumni activities, serving as chair of the Alumni Fund
(1992-95) and member of the Alumni Council (president in 2004-05). B.A. from Wilmington College, MBA
degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from the University of Arizona College of Law.

Douglass W. McDonald, Treasurer

President and CEO, Cincinnati Museum Center & CEO of the National Underground Railroad Freedom
Center. Member of many professional associations and serves on the Finance & Resources Committee
of the International Council of Museums headquartered in Paris, France; and has served on the boards
of American Association of Museums, U.S. Committee of the International Council of Museums; the
American Association of Museums Ethics Committee on Cultural Property, and the Association for
Midwest Museums. In the community, he currently serves as a board member for Greater Cincinnati
Convention and Visitors Bureau, Leadership Cincinnati USA, and CET Public Television Community Service
Council. He has also served as a board member of the Center for Holocaust & Humanity Education and
Honorary Co-Chair of the 94th annual convention for American Association for the Study of African
American Life and History, Inc. (ASALH). Graduate of William Penn College; graduate studies in counseling,
church history and theology from Christian Theological Seminary. Member and recorded minister, Society
of Friends (Quaker).

David Harcum

Founder and President of Crosscurrents International Institute, a non-profit organization based in Ohio and
serving a national and international constituency. Chair of the Board, Dayton International Peace Museum.
Formerly associated with the Charles F. Kettering Foundation. Served on Olney Friends School Board of
Directors. Major interests related to global issues and agriculture. Lives on family farm. BS and MA degrees
in ecology from Bowling Green University, Ph.D. from Miami University (Ohio) in higher education
administration. Presently serves as Chair of the Board of the Dayton International Peace Museum, the only
museum of its type in USA.

Guy David Hawley, Assistant Secretary

Former Minister, Indian Hill Episcopal Presbyterian Church, 2003-2012. Former Minister of the
Wilmington Presbyterian Church, 1978-2003. Academic appointments have included teaching at
United Theological Seminary, University of Dayton, and Chatfield College. Currently serves on
several boards, including the Metropolitan Area Religious Coalition of Cincinnati, National Bank
and Trust, and the Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services Foundation. B.A. degree from Defiance
College and master’s and doctoral degrees in Theology from Louisville Presbyterian Theological
Seminary.

Robert E. Buerger

Law Clerk, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Former Group Vice President of
The Dayton Power and Light Company (1989-1994) and held other positions with that company from
1969-1989. Served previously on the boards of Wilmington College and Wright State University. B.S. degree
from the University of Cincinnati, a Masters of Humanities degree from Wright State University, and a Juris
Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law. Awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from
Wilmington College in 2005.

Stanley P. Caine

President of Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan from 1989-2005 and Vice President for Academic Affairs
and professor of History at Hanover College from 1977-1989. Served as Interim Vice President for
Academic Affairs at Wilmington College during the 2006-07 academic year and in June, 2009, completed a
year of service as Interim President at North Carolina Wesleyan College. Trustee, Centenary College (New
Jersey). B.A. from Macalester College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin
(Madison).

firm specializing in transportation infrastructure development in the Middle Atlantic States. Quaker.
Trustee of William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, PA and has served as a trustee of Friends School
Haverford in Haverford, PA. B.A. degree from Earlham College and a Masters in Regional Planning from
the University of Pennsylvania. Awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Wilmington
College in 2011.
 

John “J.R.” Reid

Robert E. Chason

Retired (2006) chief executive officer for UC Davis Medical Center. Served for 15 years prior to joining the
medical center in 1994 in the UC Davis Office of Student Affairs as assistant, associate vice chancellor and
acting vice chancellor. Twelve years at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, serving in various
positions, including assistant vice president for business administration and business manager. In 2006,
joined the California Hospital Association as Executive Director, Disaster Planning and Response to
coordinate preparations of California's disaster response plan. Currently working as an independent
health care consultant with several major companies. Board member, Fremont/Rideout Hospital in
Marysville/Yuba City. Bachelor's degree from Wilmington College (1965) and a master of education
degree from Miami University (1967).

oyster gardening, a new coastal initiative for North Carolina.

on American Delegations traveled to 68 countries and international organizations. Received
Wilmington College outstanding alumni award.

Treasurer of Raven Rocks, Inc. a 1250 acre wilderness preserve and alternative energy demonstration center
near Beallsville, OH (1970-Present). Founding and current President of the Barnesville Area Rails to Trails

Former Wilmington College administrator and faculty member, past president of Jamestown College (North
Dakota), and fund raising consultant. Recently involved in developing the Lytle Creek Greenway and the
Arizona Friends Community. Awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Wilmington
