ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
GRANT PROPOSAL WRITER
Wilmington College is now accepting applications for a part-time Grant Proposal Writer position. Salary range is 25,000-30,000. The ideal candidate will have the ability to write successful grant proposals for funding from federal and state governmental agencies, local organizations, corporations and private foundations. Duties include developing research on possible private, corporate and foundation donors that match the needs of the College and its strategic plan; developing grant proposals, including letters of intent, case statements, interim and final reports for use with a variety of foundations and corporate donors; managing all aspects of the proposal and report submission process to foundation and corporate donors; and providing assistance to faculty and staff in the research and writing of grant proposals. Required qualifications are Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred); a minimum of three years full-time experience as a grant writer; demonstrated success as a principal writer of funded grants; comprehensive knowledge of grant-related programs, policies, and procedures; competency in preparing grant budgets/budget justifications; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. AGRICULTURAL STUDIES RECRUITER
Wilmington College is now accepting applications for an Admission Recruiter specializing in Agricultural Studies. This ENTRY LEVEL position will be responsible for recruiting prospective students to the College specifically to major in agriculture and agriculture-related areas. It currently is funded for one year with the possibility of renewal. Recruitment activities include, but are not limited to: telecounseling, presenting to high school agriculture classes and organizations, representing the College at trade shows and college fairs, meeting with visitors on campus who are interested in pursuing an agriculture degree, and various marketing initiatives. Some evening and weekend work is required. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in agriculture. Previous experience in admission and with FFA and/or 4-H is desirable. Also requires strong presentation, organizational, computation, communication and multi-tasking skills. Familiarity with private higher education preferred. DIRECTOR OF ADVANCEMENT SERVICES
Wilmington College is accepting applications for Director of Advancement Services. The Director of Advancement Services oversees the computer systems for the Office of College Advancement and provides supervision to the Administrative Assistant for Advancement Information and Gift Recording Specialist. Performs prospect research on all current and prospective donors. Organizes, researches and maintains major prospect information. A related Bachelor’s degree is required along with 2 years experience in a not-for-profit environment and data base management. Must have a strong background in computers, information systems and prospect research, ability to develop new systems and databases, research and propose approaches to prospective donors, demonstrate organizational ability and ability to lead and supervise staff to achieve effective operations and provide necessary services. Experience using CARS database is highly desirable. Starting wage in the mid to high 20’s. DIRECTOR, CINCINNATI STATE DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM
Wilmington College, a private, career-oriented liberal arts institution, and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, a public, two year institution, have established a successful partnership to offer bachelor’s degrees to Cincinnati State associate degree holders on Cincinnati State’s campus. Enrollment in the program has increased substantially since its inception in 2003. The Director provides on-site administrative presence for the program and reports directly to the Vice President for External Programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, working collaboratively with other Wilmington College and Cincinnati State personnel to recruit, enroll and retain prospective students; advising current students about transfer credit and degree requirements; and maintaining a professional and collegial academic environment at the Cincinnati State location. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be energetic, detailed-oriented, able to work both cooperatively and independently, and will have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. A master’s degree is required, preferably in a field relevant to Wilmington’s degree offerings at this branch. A minimum of 3 years of prior work experience as an academic administrator in a college or university setting is required; experience working with non-traditional, non-residential students in a community college is a plus.
