FACULTY POSITIONS

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF AGRICULTURE

Wilmington College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Agriculture in the Agricultural Economics/Business to join a talented and innovative department. The department values innovative teaching and faculty committed to engaging pedagogies, collaborative and interdisciplinary endeavors, global perspectives and providing hands on experiences to our students on our academic farm. The candidate may teach courses in Agricultural Economics, Farm and Agricultural Business Management, Financial Management in Agriculture, and Agricultural Policy. The candidate will assist in the department’s development of a food systems and sustainability centered curriculum by working on developing courses in agricultural business and food system management, agricultural marketing, and entrepreneurship. As part of the sustainability program, the candidate will direct our multidisciplinary minor in sustainability. Willingness to teach in multiple modes and delivery formats is preferred. Ph.D. preferred.

SPANISH INSTRUCTOR, Part-time

ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs’ responsibilities include: working with diverse student, faculty and staff populations and various external constituencies to advance the mission of the College. The AVPAA has oversight responsibility for leading retention effort coordination (retention policies, monitoring academic progress, intervention strategies, coordination and communication), coordinating academic advising, overseeing all aspects of student academic support services (Student Resource Center, Writing Center, Math Center, and Disability Services), and coordinate campus events such as Commencement, Baccalaureate and the Student Recognition Ceremony. The AVPAA serves on a number of committees including President’s Council, Budget and Planning, Academic Council, Academic Standards and Appeals, Early Alert Retention Protocol, and Admission, Financial Aid, and Retention.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated academic administrative experience. A terminal degree is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent oral/written communication skills and should be skilled in staff and organization development and resource enhancement. SUPPORT STAFF POSITIONS

PEACE RESOURCE CENTER COORDINATOR

Wilmington College is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Peace Resource Center (PRC) Coordinator. This is a part time, 25 hour per week, hourly staff position. Duties will include, but are not limited to, coordinating the PRC and promoting the Center. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Background in and commitment to peace issues required. The Center’s mission is to foster and provide peace education and houses our unique Hiroshima /Nagasaki Memorial Collection and other peace resources. The position is available beginning June 3, 2013. The Centers hours, beginning in June, will be Monday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

ACADEMIC RECORDS SPECIALIST

Supports the academic records function in the areas of registration, grade reporting, scheduling, and attendance tracking. Provides general support as required by faculty, administration, and students. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related office experience, preferably in a customer service environment. Other requirements include strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and to handle multiple tasks; evidence of good computer and proofreading skills and detail orientation; excellent communications skills; ability to work cooperatively and independently; availability to work evenings until 6:15 p.m. as well as occasional Saturdays.
