MAJOR GIFTS OFFICER/DIRECTOR, PLANNED GIVING
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Major Gifts Officer/Director of Planned Giving will be a member of a team of professionals responsible for aggressive campaign development and implementation of a strategy to further our major gifts and planned giving programs. Responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting gifts of $10,000+ for Wilmington College. Will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies for cultivation, solicitation, closure, and stewardship of outright and planned gifts. Work closely with the major gifts team, providing vision and leadership in the planning, organization, and implementation of a planned giving program to support the college’s strategic plan. Position requires making personal contact with college donors and prospects.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the broad range of deferred gift vehicles and be able to communicate with confidence and compassion appropriate options to prospective donors. Manage and expand a portfolio of major gift prospects. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and planned giving software. Willingness to travel a must.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years experience in major gift and planned giving. Experience in fundraising and development in higher education preferred.

GROW FOOD, GROW HOPE LEAD PROJECT MANAGER
Wilmington College and the Grow Food, Grow Hope Garden Initiative is excited to announce an immediate opening for a lead project manager within the newly established community gardens project. The manager will be responsible for guiding nine AmeriCorps* VISTA members in properly managing activities throughout the community, as well as providing leadership and supervising the day-to-day coordination of the project. The manager will also be tasked to deepen relationships with community partners and involvement in our neighborhood and surrounding areas.
The primary focus of the Grow Food, Grow Hope project is on capacity-building and program development within the local community. The project hopes to capitalize on our rich agricultural heritage to educate, inspire and bring hope to our community through the benefits of community gardening. To meet these goals, the project will pursue several objectives:
The Project Manager will be grant funded and is contracted for one year of work. Qualified applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of responsible, related experience. The applicant should have the ability to plan and implement large projects and hands-on learning experiences. Demonstrated experience in community organizing is a plus, as well as a background in budget development and ability to effectively control budgetary expenditures.
